The Schwaneberg group welcomes three new PhD fellows!
The Schwaneberg group strengthens its young researchers team. Gustavo Santos, Stefanie Brands and Matthias Offermann start their PhD on August 1st, 2017.
Gustavo Santos started on August 1st, 2017 as a new PhD fellow in the Schwaneberg group. As a member of the molecular bioeconomy sub-division, he is supervised by Dr. Joelle Ruff and will stay for three years. He will work on the evolution of heme-dependent monooxygenases which is part of the ITN oxytrain project.
Stefanie Brands started in the Schwaneberg group on August 1st, 2017 and is a member of the molecular bioeconomy sub-division headed by Dr. Joelle Ruff. Her project deals with the evolution of the enzyme PigC, which catalyses the final condensation step in the biosynthesis of prodiginines. The project is part of the BioSC FocusLab CombiCom. She will stay in our group for three years.
Matthias Offermann joined the Schwaneberg group on August 1st, 2017 as a new PhD fellow. He will be part of the Next Generation Biocatalysis sub-division headed by Dr. Johannes Schiffels. In his PhD thesis, Matthias will engineer a sesquiterpene synthase to generate new, exciting terpenoid-based natural compounds. His project is part of the BioSC FocusLab CombiCom and outlined for three years. Welcome to the group!
